Lessons during Hybrid and Distance Learning are carried out over Zoom, and although this means teachers and students are in different places, there are many ways that Zoom itself can be more interactive. In lessons teachers endeavour to ensure variety and engagement through the following:
Breakout rooms: students can be put into small groups to work together on set tasks. Teachers and SEN support staff (as Co-hosts) can rotate between these groups offering more individualised and targeted support.
Annotations: Zoom offers the ability to annotate screen shares, this allows teachers to give written feedback and answers. It also allows a teacher to be more specific in their instructions. Students can also annotate these screen shares for a more interactive experience.
Multiple sharing screen: With this setting on, teachers can view multiple students screens, making feedback easier and quicker.
